Her journey in education is one of passion, perseverance, and a deep belief in the power of learning to transform lives.
She began her academic path at the National University of Timor-Leste (UNTL), where she earned her degree in Education, majoring in English Teaching. Soon after, she stepped into the field with Ba Futuru, serving as a Project Coordinator in early childhood education. Working closely with communities, she helped create safe, engaging, and supportive environments where children could learn and grow. This experience became a defining chapter in her journey, shaping her hands-on, child-centered approach to education.
Driven by a commitment to deepen her expertise, she was awarded the prestigious Manaaki Scholarship, which led her to pursue her Master’s degree at the University of Waikato, graduating with First Class Honours. This international experience enriched her perspective, blending global knowledge with local impact.
Upon returning, she contributed her skills and insights to HANDS at the Ministry of Education, where she supported initiatives aimed at strengthening early childhood systems and empowering educators nationwide. Her work helped bridge policy, practice, and community needs.
Her journey then came full circle when she joined the National University of Timor-Leste (UNTL) as a lecturer in the Early Childhood Education Department. There, she nurtured and inspired future teachers—sharing not only knowledge, but also her passion for shaping the earliest and most important stages of learning.
